Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices Sourdough Bread (thick-cut rustic loaf)
- 1 cup Blueberries (fresh preferred)
- 4 oz White Cheddar (Fontina or Brie work as swaps)
- 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 1 tsp Honey or Balsamic Vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- Wash blueberries thoroughly, pat dry with a paper towel, and optionally toss with a tiny splash of balsamic vinegar.
- Place a thick slice of cheese on each piece of bread, followed by a generous layer of berries.
- Heat skillet over medium-low heat and add butter until it bubbles. Toast the sandwich until golden brown, flipping once, to achieve the ultimate crunch.
Notes
Use a heavy-bottomed cast iron skillet for even heat distribution. Keep heat on medium-low to allow berries to warm through without burning the bread crust. Bring cheese to room temperature before grilling to help it melt faster and more evenly.
