Ingredients
- 2 medium fresh lemons, sliced into thin rounds
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger root, sliced thinly
- 1 large cucumber, sliced into thin rounds
- 8 cups fresh water (filtered)
- 6–8 fresh mint leaves (optional)
- Ice cubes, as needed for serving
Instructions
- Rinse the fresh lemons thoroughly and slice into thin rounds, approximately one-quarter inch thick.
- Wash the cucumber thoroughly and slice into thin rounds or lengthwise into spears.
- Slice the fresh ginger root thinly on a bias or use a vegetable peeler to remove thin strips.
- Fill a large glass pitcher with eight cups of fresh, filtered water.
- Add the sliced lemon, ginger strips, cucumber pieces, and gently torn fresh mint leaves to the water, then stir gently to distribute.
- Place the pitcher in the refrigerator to infuse for at least 30 minutes, ideally 2 to 4 hours for optimal flavor development before serving over ice.
Notes
Chef Tips: Slice all ingredients uniformly and thinly to increase surface area contact and accelerate infusion. Use filtered or purified water for the clearest taste. Keep the pitcher covered while infusing to prevent flavor loss and protect from kitchen odors.
